Can I create a multi-line receiver for multiple clients in MS Word 2000 using data from MS Excel 2000?

I am Head of the nonprofit organization. We had a lot of donations this year. Most donors have 5-6 times during the year. I kept all my financial records in Microsoft Excel. An example file is: Blow Joe Blow Joe Blow 5/21/08 5/23/08 $ 100.00 $ 200.00 6/26/08 5/15/08 Joe Jill Bill $ 100.00 Jill Bill $ 25.00 $ 25.00 06/09/2008 How can I send these values in Excel reception in Word? I know how to do a simple mail merge, I can not understand how Client's name at the top of the page, with all their contributions are listed below. When I try to merge like I can do I just personal letters to customers for each gift (eg, Joe Blow gets three cards for each contribution, Jill and Bill receives 2 cards) – I just want a "thank you" Letters sent to each donor. Maybe I'm going about it the wrong way? If you need more info, just e-mail. Thank you
