how & where can i get local adresses listing to send advertisement in the mail from my small business?

Try ADVO Corporation (NYSE AD). There are also several direct mail companies (google it) that will either sell you or "rent" names – be careful – if you try to use the rental list too many times they will put a dummy address in the list so they can find out if you’re cheating.

There are many places;
1) the public library-referance section-cross directory
2) Chamber of Commerce-membership is business’s
3) If your business is a good match for a charity, propose a mutually benificial promo or fund raiser mailing.

I own a medical transcription business, and when I am looking for new clients to send marketing letters to, I usually look in the yellow pages of my local phone book. I also do transcription for private investigators, and I have had luck finding names and addresses for them just by typing in "private investigators in ________(insert the name of the town and the state you wish to target) and then click on "search", and it should bring up some names for you if there are any in that particular area. You might also try networking with your local Chamber of Commerce – it’s a good way to meet other business owners. Best of luck to you with your business.
