How can my friend get her roomate to leave?
Okay this is the story, she was supposed to pay the rent this month and lied about it. On the 12th my friends landlord called to find out why he hadn’t recieved it so, my friend paid the rent and now wants her to leave. She has done a lot to warrant the eviction, she does drugs, she brings men over to have sex for money the list goes on and on. In the state of Nevada even though she isn’t on the lease as long as she gets mail there the police cannot aide in her removal unless my friend goes to court and files eviction papers and now that she has paid all the rent she is low on cash. What suggestions do you all have to make it uncomfortable for the roommate to continue living there? Nothing illegal. Thanks!
She has already been asked to leave and she refuses to and tries to provoke my friend into confrontations whenever she goes home. This is no way to live and the court process takes at least 30 days.
Tell her straight out to nick off. Or tell her the space is needed as a new tenant is moving in and their name is on the lease and seeing as hers isn’t she must leave. If she is that much of a loser she wont know the difference. It’s not hurting anyone as she clearly is a problem and has a few to boot. Or take her mail and re-direct it to her family somewhere or something. Technically you aren’t touching her personal mail. If the police can’t do anything which if they were told of her substance abuse they might be interested. Other than that try legal aid and see what they say. Oh and has your friend contacted the landlord and told them the story I am sure they will have a solution to getting her out. I am sure they wouldn’t take kindly to having a problem tenant.There is always a solution to every problem it’s just finding it. Don’t give up until you and your friend get the answer you are looking for. Good luck to your friend and you.
