Buy first horse?

I am a student in training who are looking to buy your first horse. I found an ad for a 16 years. mare the old level of Hanover appears as a contribution to the teacher training. Sales is $ 8500. Can someone with experience tell me if it's a good find money? My coach advised me to find a "mature" Experience riding. I would talk to her, but she is out of town, and clinics for the next two weeks. I contacted the owner and the horse remains on the market. What should my next step if I had to make the purchase? Would it be wise to wait until my coach has time free? I know that riders could make a trip to see the horse with me and my veterinary examination fees prior purchase.

All First, 16 is not old. Especially if you're a beginner. experienced horses are worth their weight in gold. Take your coach. They know you and your skill level and be ready to help you find the best fit. In general, horses are on the market for some time should not be rushed. Perhaps if the deposit is concerned it sells. Finding a good horse is hard work. I have a hunter 17 years and it's great. We show all the time and win. There are horses in our barn much wider and are always good. Good luck!
